The journey to our first “large” festival taught me one thing...food truck owners and pop-up vendors exhibit a resilience and determination that is truly remarkable. Navigating the challenges of reloccation, meticulous supply management, temperature control, setup, breakdown, and adapting to countless uncertainties requires a level of perseverance that is truly commendable.
For us, today, the financial outcome hurt. We took an unexpected loss and it STUNG after so much expectation and so much preparation.
It STUNG because we left the kids behind today and it STUNG because there are certain things we could have done better to possibly have had a slightly better outcome.

BUT, BUT....we had some WINS. And today, some is enough.
We networked our beautiful future venue with so many food truckers yearning for a permanent location. We got tips from the best of the best in the field. We made connections that brightened our day and started waves for our future. We enjoyed a perfect weather day and some great vendors. We listened to music and bonded.
Unknowns and unexpected come with the business we run, but this doesn’t always make it easier. Today, even small victories hold significance. We are so lucky to have a support staff who provides us grace during days like today. A village who stood along side us in all the understanding of preparation and awaited our results. A village who was then there to help us find the silver linings and learn with us.
Reflecting on the day, I am aware how deeply appreciative I am for That Place Down The Street and I am SO excited for the future food trucks who are going to join us. I am thankful to be building a village which allows us to showcase our food options and still serve as a local platform for community, for gathering, for connections.
We are going to do big things, and every day of loss is a stepping stone towards our vision. Not every day can be sunny, but rainbows can’t form without some rain. So here we are, standing tall, taking it all and counting our small wins.
The journey continues, filled with hope, resilience, and a commitment to growth. Will you grow with us? We're here and ready!
